The FIFA 11 head to head competition ended yesterday with Muzza taking out top spot. This completes a flawless competition record as ACL's National Champion has taken out every ACL FIFA competition he has played in.

Pool A kicked off in surprising fashion as Lakey took a game from Skip, and Spurs came back from 3-0 down to win 4-3 in his first match against Brett. Newcomer Jonesy surprised punters with close games against Lakey, managing to take one and then go on to test the other higher seeded players in his pool.
Skip went through the rest of pool play without dropping a game and posting an impressive +24 goal difference to take out first seed.

Pool B followed suit with ACL FIFA Admin, Peteh, taking both games from Muzza, the first on penalties and the second with a late, long range strike from Lampard. Muzza then went on to win his remaining 6 matches.
Maverick, Peteh and Todd played out some very close matches to secure their spots in the double elimination.

The seedings for the double elimination were as follows:
1. Skip
2. Peteh
3. Muzza
4. Spurs
5. Todd
6. Brett
7. Lakey
8. Maverick

As expected, Skip and Todd took out their first match-ups in two games. On the other side of the bracket, Brett sent Muzza to the Loser’s bracket in a close three game series and Lakey ended Peteh’s hot streak in a dominating fashion, winning 3-0 and then 2-1.

Skip and Todd played a tight series with Skip edging out a close game three. Lakey continued his run of upsets as he took out ACL’s top player on competition points, Brett. He won game three to reach the Winners bracket finals and break into the top 3 for the first time on LAN.

Skip put an end to Lakey’s fine form in the winners bracket final in game 3 after Lakey took out a closely contested game 2. Meanwhile in the Losers bracket, Muzza made an impressive run through the likes of Peteh, Todd and finally Brett, the latter two in tight three game series that both went to extra time in the third game.

The winner of all online rounds and current LAN champion, then faced Lakey in the losers final. Lakey started the first 20 minutes with the greater part of possession and then Muzza turned on the engines and blasted 7 goals through the Novacastrian’s defence. Game 2 went by in similar fashion, Lakey not creating any decent chances and Muzza breezed through with 3 goals to nil, showing off some impressive skill moves in and around the area.

A sense of déjà vu was present as the ACL Sydney final was to be replayed in the Brisbane Nationals. Skip playing exceptionally well all weekend and Muzza lifting on Sunday to take down two of ACL’s regular performers. The first game was back and forth with each player countering strongly until Muzza broke down Skip’s defense and landed a nice cross onto Ronaldo’s head. Petr Cech had no chance and Muzza was able to hold out Skip’s surges until the final whistle.
Game 2 was played in the same vein as Muzza went one up off Ronaldo’s head before sealing the deal with a late Kaka finesse into the top right corner.

Congratulations to Muzza for his perfect record in ACL FIFA competitions and becoming the FIFA 11 National Champion. As some extra icing on the cake, Muzza took out the FIFA 12 showcase competition after beating Skip in the semis and then Brett 2-1 in the final.

I just gave up against Muzza in the first half of the first game. After down 3-0 at half time it was, I just was being an idiot ;). But, honestly, great job Muzza. I think most can agree, you're a top class player. You're a well deserved Champion and can out class every player you verse.

Here’s something for you to look over, just to show you how lazy I am. You do IT at TAFE don’t you? Or at least you’re a tumblr fag so you know a bit about coding:

That’s not including the coding for threads, rules and structure pages (which I spent hours mulling over in my mind)

Oh, plus countless excel documents, word documents, creating brackets, that half hour interview that got corrupt on my phone which afterwards I drove you personally to a friends house, >15 hours of VoD from Sydney and Melbourne, the majority of which I sat right next to my computer for 10 hours a day to make sure that it was done then compressing all of it at home, figuring out points on request by players (you), clutching last minute flights across the country despite the fact I don’t have a job and have not much money to my name, putting up my own money as cash prizes for LANs, saving OR1 and organizing every FIFA comp ever made by ACL in 2011 (with the help of Cripsy, Brett and Trazza + others), organising GFX, game commentaries live and at home and going to a community summit. Don't mention it (don't worry, not many have).

Yeah, I didn’t do a write-up for Sydney or edit the one Trazza drafted for R3, my apologies though. I’ll do better next year. Loljks I’m lazy.

Also, fuck you.

I never said you were lazy. I said "I wonder if Pete will do a wrap-up. Won't be surprised if he doesn't" as I hadn't seen a FIFA write up yet. I never said a lot of effort doesn't goes into it either. But, I know I never said "Pete is the laziest f**kin' admin".
