Okay , so there is always gonna be alot of discussion about the 4.5 star rule that ACL has for the competions , there are people both for and against it , so i just wanted to make a poll and see what the public thinks. I would also like to see what people have to say about both the options and tell me why they like either 4.5 or 5 stars.

I don't really care to be honest.
If both players decide to play on the same star team than go for it.

5 Star teams require less skill but they also show what you can do with key players.

this is a good idea.

i was never for 5 star teams because they made the half decent players decent... but i guess it works both ways...

thinking about it now... using a 5 star team would create a far better attacking game & therefore making it more enjoyable to watch...

i wouldn't mind seeing something like todd suggested tried out

If even somebody makes the best argument ever conceived as to why we should use 4.5 star teams, the reality is that we are going to have to get used to the new rules and get over it

Personally, I'm an Arsenal whore so I'd say 4.5. But I wouldn't be too fussed if we put both in. I'd cry if they made it 5 star unless Arsenal's keeper got an upgrade.

The better attacking players are balanced out by better defensive players. The result is that less goals are scored because of bad defenders/goalkeepers doing stupid things and people are forced to actually break down the opposition defence to score. At a low skill level it can be said that using 5 star teams will help unskillful players, but when two good players use 5 star teams it'll be a much more skillful game because there are things that 4.5 star team players simply can't do.

What can a 5 star team do that it is impossible for a 4.5 star team to do?

4.5 star team players cannot dribble the way 5 star team players can, they can't hold the ball up as well as 5 star team players can, you can't play as much of a possession game with them because their first touch isn't as good and so if you play it around much it will simply end up bouncing off one of your players to the opposition. A good player can still counteract all of these things with their defenders, but it takes a much better player to do so.

The way players dribble the ball, hold up play and control possession has absolutely nothing to do with the star ranking the team is given, in fact if what your saying is true then a player with a 5 star team will always beat a player with a 4.5 star team because the former has a team of players that can do "the impossible". 4.5 star team players are identical to the players on the 5 star teams in almost every single way, apart from the exceptions of players like Drogba, C Ronaldo and Messi (the main culprits) that allow players to do unbelievable things that require the smallest amount of skill to execute. I can see where you are coming from and I know that ACL changing their rules is inevitable, I just honestly think that the current 4.5 star rule still shows who the better player is while eliminating the over powered characters bring an element of luck into matches.
