Rise Against - Hero of War

I mainly listen to Death Metal but since 90% of this thread is Metal, I thought I would post something different. My friend and I always jam this song on our acoustics.

edit: thanks pyro

Rise Against is awesome.

Posted Image
Artist: Thrice
Album: The Artist in the Ambulance
Genre: Post-Hardcore/Alternative-Rock

This album is all kinds of awesome with some freakin' amazing lyrics. You absolutely need to listen to the song 'The Artist in the Ambulance'.

Quote

Late night, brakes lock, hear the tires squeal
Red light, can't stop so I spin the wheel
My world goes black before I feel an angel lift me up
And I open bloodshot eyes into fluorescent white
They flip the siren, hit the lights, close the doors and I am gone

Now I lay here owing my life to a stranger
And I realize that empty words are not enough
I'm left here with the question of just
What have I to show except the promises I never kept?
I lie here shaking on this bed, under the weight of my regrets

I imagine that 90% of them would be lip syncing.

Artist: Darkest Hour
Album: Deliver Us
Genre: Metalcore

Fantastic metalcore band that doesn't get a lot of attention. Freakin' awesome vocals and great shredding. Very melodic and catchy tunes.

Check out the song 'Demon(s)'

Posted Image
Artist: Caliban
Album: Say Hello to Tragedy
Genre: Metalcore

Very heavy metalcore band from Germany. Chugging guitars and brutal vocals. Check out '24 Years'

Posted Image
Artist: Heaven Shall Burn
Album: Iconoclast (Part 1: The Final Resistance)
Genre: Metalcore/Death Metal

Another metalcore/death metal band from Germany. Heavy as hell, these songs are pretty relentless. Check out the epic song 'Endzeit'.

Now that I have your attention...

Posted Image
Artist: In This Moment
Album: Beautiful Tragedy
Genre: Metalcore

Metalcore with a female vocalist. Check out 'Beautiful Tragedy' for a taste of their lighter stuff or 'Prayers' for a taste of their heavy side. If you prefer the lighter stuff you'll probably enjoy their 2nd album 'The Dream'.

Holy shit, was that from an album recording or live recording?

If that's a live recording that is tight as hell.

Awesome stage moves as well.

Sounded like a studio recording to me, with some seriously nice mixing. No way that was live (If it was I will eat my hat:P).

Mixing things up a bit with a few different genres...

Posted Image
Artist: Confession
Album: Cancer
Genre: Metalcore

Awesome album that I can't stop listening to lately. Features Michael Crafter (Original 'I Killed the Prom Queen' vocals) and guest appearances from JJ Petres (IKtPQ and Deez Nuts) and Winston (Parkway Drive).

My favourite song off the album is 'The Bitch Is Born to Run'.

Posted Image
Artist: Sylosis
Album: Conclusion of an Age
Genre: Metalcore/Melodic Death Metal/Thrash Metal (I'd sum it up as Thrashcore)

Amazing band. Awesome vocals, thrashing guitar riffs and face melting solo's. Pure awesome. Check out the song 'After Lifeless Years', this song has freakin' amazing clean vocals.

Posted Image
Artist: Unearth
Album: The March
Genre: Thrashcore/Metalcore

Metalcore band with a lot of thrash metal influence. Awesome guitar shredding. Check out 'My Will Be Done'.

Posted Image
Artist: A Day to Remember
Album: Homesick
Genre: Pop-Punk/Post-Hardcore

This is the heaviest pop-punk band you'll ever hear. Extremely catchy music with some of the most brutal breakdowns you'll ever hear. It's really cheesy and fun. Check out 'The Downfall of Us All'.

Posted Image
Artist: Breaking Benjamin
Album: Phobia
Genre: Post-Grunge

This is an album that you need to listen to from start to finish. The Intro and Outro tracks to this album are chilling and it features some great song writing. Check out their songs 'The Diary of Jane' and 'Breath'.

Posted Image
Artist: Nightwish
Album: Once
Genre: Symphonic Power Metal

Amazing album from an amazing band. This album is with their ex-vocalist Tarja. This album features an epic song called 'Ghost Love Score' which is done with a full orchestra and it sounds freakin' amazing. Check out 'Nemo' or 'Wish I Had An Angel' for something a bit heavier.

Posted Image
Artist: Karnivool
Album: Sound Awake
Genre: Progressive Rock

Awesome Aussie progressive rock band. Check out 'All I Know'.

Posted Image
Artist: The Butterfly Effect
Album: Imago
Genre: Progressive Rock

Another awesome Aussie progressive rock band. Check out 'Reach'.

Posted Image
Artist: Deez Nuts
Album: Stay True
Genre: Rapcore/Hardcore

Imagine the cheesiest lyrics you can think of, rap and down tuned guitars. Great for parties. Here's their music video for the song 'I Hustle Everyday'. This band features JJ Peters (Ex-Drummer of I Killed the Prom Queen) as well as guest vocals from other Aussie bands such as 'The Red Shore'.

Posted Image
Artist: Fort Minor
Album: The Rising Tied
Genre: Hip-Hop

This is probably the only rap album you'll ever catch me listening to. I think that says something. Check out 'Believe Me'. Features Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park as well as lots of guests vocalists including 'Styles of Beyond'.

Artist: Linkin Park
Album: Meteora
Genre: Nu-Metal

This band is pretty much responsible for my taste in music. It's the first band I ever got heavily into and it paved the way into heavier bands for me. I first got into LP with the Hybrid Theory album, but this album is my favourite. Amazing song writing, awesome rapping by Shinoda, angry screams from Chester and some really catchy tunes. Unfortunately they seemed to have lost their style with their latest album which is sad because LP really had a unique sound before they started trying to sound like Fallout Boy.

I'm sure you all know their popular songs like 'Numb' and 'Breaking the Habit', but here's one of the lesser known tracks and one of my personal favourites - 'From the Inside'.

Posted Image
Artist: Killswitch Engage
Album: The End of Heartache
Genre: Metalcore

Absolutely amazing. Catchy songs, awesome riffs, awesome song writing. Howards vocals are awesome with a huge range from screaming to clean vocals. Check out the title track 'The End of Heartache' or 'The Rose of Sharyn'.

Posted Image
Artist: All That Remains
Album: The Fall of Ideals
Genre: Metalcore

Another awesome metalcore band. Very melodic and awesome twin guitar solo's. Phil's screams and clean vocals are both really good. Here's the song 'The Air that I Breathe'.

If you have that album, it's actually worth a fair bit, (The limited edition one) or so I've heard.

You and I have a similar taste in music - I'm going to start checking out the bands you've posted that I've not heard yet.

I should really upload my library, has a lot of things that at least someone else would like. But the main issue is:
"10910 tracks in playlist, average track length: 4:08
Estimated playlist length: 753 hours 57 minutes 45 seconds "

edit:
Am also quite glad you posted Within Temptation. =P Good band, though they may not be as 'heavy' (Especially with her voice) they're still great. First listened to
Memories, Destroyed, Angels and What Have you Done by them..
Current Tag -- Feel free to message me either here or on LIVE.
