A really interesting interview with Sundance well worth a listen, he talks about some big changes coming into MLG now and also in the near future.

"Reach has underperformed"

Reach is not 100% for next season. Go to 24:00.

I actually love Sundance now.

"I could build my entire business for the next 3-4 years solely around SC2 and LoL"

One of the interesting things he talked about is the introduction of 4 seasons played in a televised studio with the end of each season being a live event. Also each season would be roster locked.

Even with Halo 3 whilst they had a lot of interest in watching the top few teams playing I don't think they sold out the team passes that often.

It is Bungies fault though, they gave MLG nothing with Reach.

Halo will stay on the circuit for a few more years but if it keeps underperforming they'll take resources away from it and put them into other games.

Team passes sold out quite quickly in Halo 3, even in the final year. Was normally a waiting list thread on MLG that had people looking to buy peoples passes that changed their mind.

The last event of Halo3 showcased the best gameplay we had ever seen. Even though the game wasn't considered as good as previous titles I think spectators at that point were definitely enjoying it as much as Halo2. Halo 2 on the other hand has become very stale towards the end with very few levels being played and wasn't enjoyable to watch. For me anyway.

Reach... ass to play and not great to watch.

It seriously feels like the levels are being played on a f***ing ship on high seas rocking back and forth.

Sundance seemed excited about some features 343 are working on so hopefully H4 delivers.

Which events sold out? I was under the impression after reading MLG forums that most events never sold out?

Most events sold out, I remember them always selling out in about an hour of them going on sale.

Wasn't there some events with under 200 teams (In halo 3)?

It would be a really big move for them to bring Halo 3 back and a lot of the newer pro's wouldn't be to happy about it but I t would still be sick.

Can't see Reach making it into a 3rd year though, especially with Gears/MW3 on console, and then LoL/SC2 getting bigger and bigger.

West Coast events never sold out (aside from vegas 08) and had plenty of empty spots, thats why they had 75% of events on the east coast and central because they were the events that sold out
