Part of me doesn't want to remove it from the sleeve.

You know that there are more convenient and better quality mediums for music right..?
Or does a record look cooler when you post it in this thread?

Vinyl will pick up the sound wave, so a vinyl in good condition will give the best audio quality of any medium. Dust and scratches can certainly affect the quality and also a bad amp and speakers can reduce the quality.
Lossless digital files can produce a sound extremely close to that of Vinyl records(so much so it can be indistinguishable) but again without the right listening equipment it's all for naught.

As for why I buy them, I hate the durability of CDs (the cases break and the discs scratch even when you take care of them) but I love the idea of owning a physical copy of my music.

I know what you mean by owning something physical but the inconvenience of a record would drive me crazy. The amp and speaker I use are the f***ing sh** so digital files sound crisp as..

EDIT
The only records I have listen to were my parents and they sound sh** house, probably bad player or records..

Haha yeah scratched or warped records and not fun to listen to at all and on a cheap turntable it's going to be very meh.

I try and get most of my digital stuff in lossless for sure and of course most of my music is digital. I just think vinyl gives a very pure experience (no 1s and 0s). I really think as long as you're enjoying music the format is almost irrelevant.

Latest purchase: Two tickets to The Black Keys. One for the first day and the other for the second day. After seeing them, I will have seen all of my musical idols within the space of two years. Feels f***ing amazing.

Check out my band, The Smoking Aces:
