I want to know what everyones favorite one is. I have played all of the DS versions, FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, FFX-2 and FFXII. I also played FFXIII for xbox, but didn't really enjoy it as much as I hoped.
I am still a little torn between FF7 and FF8 for my favorite, even 10 was pretty good. f***ing Squall and Cloud, easily biggest badasses out.
I have just started play FFVIII again, which I downloaded for PC. sh** is amazing!!

I thought 10 was good, but had a really terrible story line, also 12, it had a different battle style, but I think that's why I enjoyed it.
The greatest thing about most of the FF games has to be that they always throw in great side quests and mini games, battle coliseum and chocobo races in 7, the card game in 8 and blitz ball in 10. Sooo good.

You actually enjoyed Chocobo racing, Cards and Blitz Ball?
All of those, especially Blitz Ball made me want to smash my console.

I didnt so much enjoy them, as I found them to be a good change to the usual Level Grind, Level Grind, Hard Boss fight, Level Grind, Level Grind, Hard Boss fight.
I definitely think the Ames would have been just as good without them, but it made for something chilled to do while getting your anus special cuddled by Sephiroth.
Don't get me started on Blitz Ball! I ran that sh**.

FF8 is the best in my opinion, then FFX then FFVII
12 and 13 were garb, wanna know why? No love interest for the main character, the story line felt lacking in those 2 and that is because they skipped that aspect. Thats my opinion of course.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the best Final Fantasy ever made. Quote me.
Cant wait for that sh**, they dropped that bomb 6 years ago and it still isnt finished.
The reason I knw it will be so good is because Tetsuya Nomura is in charge of the whole thing, Story, Director, Character design.
Its going to be as good as Kingdom Hearts, another game he did most of the work in.

Haha I have this at home somewhere too. It would have to be one of the worst Final Fantasy games of all time haha. I only bought it because the guy told me it was the last copy at any JB store in Australia and that they weren't making any more.

Kingdom hearts is terrible
You obviously don't enjoy story driven games. Personally, I love them.

I enjoyed FFVIII but the magic system was retarded. I never used magic the entire game because I tried to stock it up because I had it junctioned to all my stats and using magic would just lower your stats... Really, really dumb system.
I don't think the main character needs a love interest if they have something else to fall back on. Love stories get old pretty quickly since it's the plot device for like 90% of media already. For example, one of my favourite characters in the FF series is Vivi cuz he's this shy dude trying to find his way in the world and Zidane tries to boost his confidence and get him talking to people and I thought those moments were really touching. Cloud didn't really have a love interest either. It's hinted that Tifa and Aerith might have a crush on him, but those feelings seem unreciprocated.
Didn't really enjoy FFXIII unfortunately and still haven't forced myself to finish it (although I want to just to see the ending) just because there was literally no exploration in that game at all.

This review of FFVIII is great. So funny. Well worth a few hours of watching.

Why? Because the entire game is a homage to all of the FF's before it. It returns to the roots of a 'Fantasy' world, after VII & VIII went all sci-fi. It has a shitload of references to the earlier entries in the series, and it can be seen as a culmination of all the games up to that point.
Up second would be FFVIII. Sick as game. Still can't beat that Omega Weapon f***er though
