The title basically states my question, but to be more specific: is there Battlefield 3 in ACL, either competitively or just in the forums, and if not, why not?

I'd say that there is not due to the pure basis of the incredibly large team sizes. It would be extremely hard to get at least 3 whole teams to attend, which imo wouldn't be worth the organisation of staff.

It is really expensive to organise servers for (xbox/ps3 or pc). And there isn't the market for it. A couple of international competitions run, but nothing to the scale of MLG or WCG.

BF3 is more of a pub game than a competitive game. The game is designed for huge maps with vehicles and large player numbers. The game seems to play best with 32+ players and it's hard enough for people to get a solid team of 4 let alone trying to get a team of 16.
